How to pronounce “supervisor”

I have often heard VIP’s pronounce the word “supervisor” as    \shopervisor\. It pains my ear because even British pronunciation does not accept \shopervisor\ as the pronunciation of “supervisor”. Some English speakers and sadly English teachers too in the Philippines claim that \shopervisor\  is acceptable because British English pronounce it that way. This is grossly incorrect. More so with American English.
